The station
Situation
The Fork is the name of the crossroads, on the surface, where the Avenue of Clichy separates from the Avenue of Saint-Ouen.
A particular configuration
The station is in the middle of an astute junction in two branches of line 13:
- the branch Asnières - Gennevilliers remains in two-track tunnel;
- the branch Saint-Denis is duplicated:
- towards Saint-Denis, it leaves the double track right after the station the Fork and finds the opposite way coming from Saint-Denis right before the station Guy Môquet,
- of Saint-Denis towards Châtillon, the way takes down before the Fork and passes under the other ways to serve a single quay, then, right before the station Place of Clichy, a very short shunting makes it possible the oars to join the line going down towards Saint Lazare.
The station the Fork thus has three quays:
- on the first level:
- a quay towards Asnières or Saint-Denis (roughly a train on two)
- a quay towards Saint-Lazare (where only the trains pass coming from Asnières)
- at the lower level:
- a second quay towards Saint-Lazare (where only the trains pass coming from Saint-Denis).
A luminous indication indicates to the travellers the latencies allowing for choice of to them between the two quays in direction of Saint-Lazare. The latencies indicated are generally shifted of one or two minutes in order to avoid races precipitated towards the first train in departure.
