Summary

Whereas XIII arrive in the small town of Greenfalls to dig there the past of this Jason Fly which it is supposed being, Jones remakes a health following his wound with the belly. It is attacked by 2 people in the search of XIII but manages to escape. It is discovered shortly after that these men are with the pay of the mongoose…

XIII, of dimensioned sound, makes to the knowledge of Dave Rigby the director of the local newspaper or Jonathan Fly, the father of Jason, worked until its death.

Being made pass for a writer, XIII start to excavate in the files of the newspaper and become acquainted with Zacharias Hattaway, the former owner. This one, old and become blind, seems to recognize immediately the voice of Jason Fly in that of XIII. Their discussion is quickly stopped by the Quinn sheriff. This last seems close to Dwight Rigby, father of Dave and local big landowner as well as Murdoch, the manager of the hotel in which remains XIII.

XIII share to make to an excursion in mountain with Judith Warner the pharmacist of the corner which côtoie Dave Rigby and his/her father. Whereas XIII are absent from its hotel room, the henchman of the mongoose, arrived at Greenfalls with this one, poses a bomb in the room. Contrary to its waitings, it is the manager left to excavate the room which starts the bomb.

The explosion involves an avalanche in which finds itself buried Jones who, anxious not to have a news of XIII, had left to his meeting.

Saved by the assistant of the Sheriff and looked after in the private clinic of Doctor Robertson, a “friend” of Dwight Rigby, Jones leaves itself there rather well. It crosses Zacharias in one of the rooms of the private clinic, with conscious half, it marmonne some words which seem to put Jason keeps some on something.

Kern, the henchman of the mongoose unloads and kills the Doctor but Jones manages to kill it in his turn at the time or Dave Rigby is able to interview it. He teaches him that XIII were stopped by the convinced Sheriff that it is him which posed the bomb responsible for died for his/her friend Murdoch, the manager of the hotel.

At the same time, the mongoose (alias Curtis Captain of the Federal services) meets Dwight Rigby and the Sheriff who discovered that XIII seek information on Fly. He proposes his association to them.

Jones sends Dave to seek the sheriff and benefits from it to go to deliver XIII….
