the Event of Thursday was a Magazine Hebdomadaire French of general topicality, founded in 1984 by Jean-François Kahn.

Being characterized by a virulent tone in its comments from the Topicality, the weekly magazine is included in the Années 1990 by the Groupe Lagardere: the journalist and old directing of Earth and Earth Hebdo, Georges-Marc Benamou, takes of it the direction and renames it the Event in 1998. One year later, Jean-François Kahn, ensured by the success of his new weekly magazine Marianne , takes again the Event , by entrusting the direction to Maurice Szafran. The newspaper becomes a cultural weekly magazine then.

But the failure of this new formula involves the transfer of the title with France-Evening , which makes its supplement weekly television of it, by renaming it the Event France-Evening . This formula lasts only a few months before the title disappears definitively.
