Sessions
The PEJ organizes three nine days international sessions per annum. They organized in various countries and all Europeans are invited to join the event, not only the members of the European Union. The national organization of each country selects a delegation of ten members - or less - in order to take part in each session. Each session is made up of work in committee, on European political problems of topicality, and of the Parliament pleinière, during whom the resolutions worked out by the commissions are examined, amended and approved.
What makes a session?
Each session, although being its own single, is largely based on invariable elements, which are below detailed. In a general way, they help to fill the objectives of the session, namely to give the opportunity to the participants to think in connection with the challenges subjected to Europe, as well as the chance to be able to learn how to know and know the culture of the other in a better manner.Teambuilding
The first weekend of a session of the PEJ, between 12 and 20 young people of all Europe gather in a commission. These people coming from very different contexts and which never met, has like need for being at the end of the weekend entirely operative as a team welded energy of before unit and respecting each one.
And this is the task which is the goal of the teambuilding . Under the direction of tested TEAM-builders , and in co-operation with the Flesh of the commission, the delegates engage a variety of interior activities like external, some being physical, the other creative ones, and still of other of solution to problem, but all being amusing, and all being designed to make that this disparate group people works like a team.
The culminating point of the teambuilding is the presentation, a sketch which each commission must compose in order to show with the others deputy, thus gathering everyone at the end of the Weekend, and giving to deputy finally exercise of team amusing and creative, before very serious work in committee does not start.
Work in committee
This is perhaps the central part of any session. The delegates of each commission gather, working now efficiemment after the weekend of Teambuilding , and they sit down to discuss their particular subject. They have very different prospects, and will have almost certainly to accept compromises, if they must find an agreement in assigned time.
In order to help them in it, each commission has a tested Chair , older PEJiste, which makes sure that the ideas of everyone are heard and that the resolution reflects the ideas of the group - that all the Members of the Commission can be proud about it.
The discussion always is very animated, but the result is that each deputy learned an incredible quality on the subject, and really reflected in connection with the consequences, and developed and redéveloppé its own point of view, with a flexible approach. The talents which they learn here, while discussing, discussing, persuading and negotiating, will prepare them well for the future.
the plenary assembly
The plenary assembly brings together all the participants in the session, in order to balance the results of work in committee. Each commission presents and defends its “motion for a resolution”, which is then discussed during approximately 40 minutes by the Parliament. Thus, the delegates should not feel at ease only with their own subject but also, to a certain extent, with all the resolutions.
At the end of each debate, the Parliament proceeds to the vote, only based on the personal conscience of each delegate. The resolutions which are adopted are then presented to the European Parliament and the national governments, like at other institutions. Even if it is true that the Parliament discussed on points brought by resolutions of the PEJ, the principal goal of the PEJ is not so much to exert political influence to provide an educational experiment for the participants.
Activities of evening Like all the young people, the participants in the sessions of the PEJ appreciate the chance to release frantic rate of the timetable of the Session, and programs it evenings is envisaged to this end. It goes without saying that it continues to accentuate the other elements of the session, giving to deputy the unique opportunity to learn in connection with the other and from the diversity of our continent in general. Beyond the time devoted in a general way to the social life, a certain number of more formal events are held.
Eurovillage
Each country represented holds a small stand with objects of their country, a flag behind them, of the memories and the booklets of information in front of them, and national food.
