The Eure (department)

The the Eure ( 27 ) is a department French, one of the five departments resulting from the cutting of the old province of Normandy. It draws its name from the the Eure, river which crosses it before joining the Seine.
History
detailed Article: History of the EureThe department was created with the French revolution, the March 4th 1790 pursuant to the law of the December 22nd 1789, starting from part of the province of Normandy.
The department was initially divided into six districts (Évreux, Andelys, Bernay, Louviers, Pont-Audemer and Verneuil) in 1790 then in five districts starting from 1800: Évreux, Bernay, Andelys, Louviers and Pont-Audemer. The two last were removed in 1926, that of Pont-Audemer being attached to Bernay and that of Louviers divided between Andelys and Évreux.

The Agriculture is an important economic sector which occupies a total of 3.850 km ² (63% of the surface of the department), that is to say:- 3.080 km ² of arable lands including 2.415 (80%) for the cultures of Cereal S, Oleaginous and Protéagineux;

Tourism
detailed Article: Tourism in the EureThe Eure does not have maritime coast, and only some places present a “spectacular” character, such as the site of Castle-Strapping man close to the Andelys or the Point of the Castling which dominates the estuary of the the Seine downstream from the Pont of Tancarville. The Eure profits on the other hand from preserved enough landscapes of industrialization and the urbanization, from large forests, typical campaigns with fresh valleys and towns of average or small importance which knew to preserve their charm and their character.
Tourism which is practiced there is rather tourism of weekend, and this department is supported by its proximity of Paris and its situation on the road of the beaches of the Calvados. Moreover much from its inhabitants go in makes work in the Paris region, in the agglomerations rouennaise, havraise or in industries based, in Seine-Maritime, along the river.

Religions
For the Catholic church, the department corresponds to current the Diocèse of Évreux which forms part, like the other Norman dioceses, of the ecclesiastical Province of Rouen.
The Eure is the French department which preserved the greatest number of brotherhoods of charity.
All second Sunday of September, the Mauritians of all the communities and all the religions find themselves with Pinterville where Jacques-Desired Laval, the “Saint” of Mauritius exerted his Ministry during two years.
