The Essarts-the-King

the Essarts-the-King is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Geography

In addition to the village itself, the commune comprises the locality of Saint-Hubert and the variation of the Bush hammers, old parish and independent commune.

The communes bordering on Essarts are Coignières with the north-north-east on approximately 600 Mr., Lévis-Saint-Name in the North-East, Dampierre-in-Yvelines in the east, Senlisse in south-east, Auffargis in the south, Perray-in-Yvelines in south-west, the Breviaries in the west and Saint-Rémy-the Honore in the North-West.

In the railway plan, the commune is served by the Gare of the Essarts-the-King on the line the SNCF of Paris-Montparnasse to Rambouillet.

History

The common one carried, throughout its history, the names of Essarta Regis , Essarts-in-Yveline , Essarts-the-Mountain during the Revolution, or Essarts-the-Wood .
The name of the commune comes from the essartage, the grubbing which the inhabitants of the place had the right to carry out to settle.

An imperial decree of 1814 decided creation of the commune of the Essarts-the-King by the regrouping of the communes of Essarts and the Bush hammers.
