The Eel
the Eel ( Unagi ) is a Japanese film carried out by Shōhei Imamura, left in 1997, which obtained the Palme of Gold to the Cannes festival, equal with the Taste the cherry Abbas Kiarostami.
Synopsis
Yamashita assassinates his adulteress several stabs. Eight years later, one grants the parole to him. It has in the idea to open a hairdressing salon, in a lost corner of the area of Tōkyō. Repairing an old masonry of its own hands, Yamashita manages to give body to its goal, and the living room opens quickly. Little time afterwards, it goes, completely by chance, to save the life of an young woman after an suicide attempt. This one of soon will require him to work at its sides. In spite of its apprehension, Yamashita will accept, and the young woman will bring in the austere hairdressing salon this key of cheerfulness and femininity which missed until there. Yamashita will however continue to be walled in its dumbness, entrusting more that to an eel, collected when it was still in prison.
