the Duty is a Quotidien of information published in Montreal (Quebec). It was created in 1910 by Henri Bourassa, with the currency Do what owe . It is downward newspaper Limited Publicity , founded in 1908 by the same Henri Bourassa. The first number appears the January 10th 1910.

History

Henri Bourassa left the Liberal party of Canada (PLC) in 1910 after being opposite with the decision of the Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier to build an independent Canadian navy. Bourassa thus created the Duty like asset for the Québécois Nationalisme. During the First World War, Bourassa used its new platform to criticize the decision of Canada to take share with the war and the adoption of the Conscription.

Bourassa remained with the head of the newspaper until August 1932, replaced then by Georges Pelletier. The nationalist speech remained the same one after the succession. During the Second world war, once again, the conscription is strongly criticized.

After the death of Furrier in 1947, Gerard Filion, ex-editor of the Earth of on our premises , becomes the editor of the Owe . In the Years 1950, journalists as André Laurendeau severely question the capacity to control Maurice Duplessis, Prime Minister of Quebec at the time. Claude Ryan takes the torch in 1964 and leaves in 1978 to continue a career in policy it will join the Liberal party of Quebec shortly after. The most recent editors as a chief are:
