The Dream of Alembert

One indicates under this title generic a whole of three philosophical dialogs of Denis Diderot written in 1769 and published in 1830:

  • Maintenance between Alembert and Diderot
  • the Dream of Alembert
  • Continuation of maintenance between Alembert and Diderot

Diderot is here at the top of the development of its theories materialists. It exposes its theory on the life and nature. It indicates to it that the matter is not solidified, and that on the contrary, it evolves/moves: each existing species changes and gives rise to a new species.

It will write a special version for Catherine II by replacing the name of the characters.

Julie de Lespinasse and D' Alembert badly took to be used like the interlocutors of these talks.
