the Dictator and the Mushroom is an album of Cartoon, the seventh of the series the adventures of Spirou and Fantasio .

Synopsis

The Count de Champignac discovered a new product able to dissolve all metals, the métomol. Alas, the Marsupilami steals it and causes catastrophes in the village. Spirou and Fantasio decide thus, after met director of zoo, whose zoo closed, which authorizes them there, to renew Marsupilami in Palombie. Their arrival is not easy, Marsupilami accumulates the blunders and finally Spirou and Fantasio enter harassed a bar with Chiquito to be refreshed. Only, Marsupilami causes a brawl with the soldiers present and Spirou and Fantasio are caught. While leaving, they cross the limousine of the hero of the revolution which controls the country now, the Zantas general. This one requires to receive them in its palate.

Once with the palate, Spirou and Fantasio discover with amazement which the Zantas general is not other than Zantafio, disappeared in the jungle before. This one changed, devoured by the ambition, he wants to conquer the adjoining country of Guaracha for his natural wealths and proposes to the two heroes to be colonels in his army. Initially, they refuse then while reconsidering with the métomol, they imagine that it is possible to use it to sabotage the plans of Zantafio. They end up accepting, but to communicate with outside appears impossible. Happily, their friend Seccotine who infiltrated in the country allows them.

The Count their fact of arriving of the bombs, declaration day before of official war, as well as machine-guns with the métomol. Seccotine having its pilot's license, they can take off, but Zantafio which carries out their treason tries to stop them. Too much late: Spirou bombards the face and Fantasio destroyed the airport. While returning in Chiquito, Zantafio tries to intercept them but it is overcome. Seccotine decides to remain some time in the country while Spirou and Fantasio renew Marsupilami in the forest. Too much attached to them, this one refuses…

Adaptation

This album was adapted in 1983 in audio tale, in the form of a deliver-disc published by Adès in its collection " Small the ménestrel" for the 45 years of Spirou.
