Synopsis

In a future distance, the ground became, because of its overexploitation by the human race, became an immense desiccated desert. A man and a woman, apparently the alive last on Earth, leave to research water to ensure their survival. Critical

5 years after the death of Jules Verne, cantor of progress positivist, J-H elder Rosny sign one of his best works, and one of that which preserves the greatest topicality. Catching on the wrong foot the belief which scientific progress would bring happiness to humanity, it describes on the contrary a human race which car-was destroyed by overexploit planet. Worrying and despairing, this work preserves more than ever its character of warning.
