The Day the Music Died
The Day the Music Died ( the day when the music died ) refers to the February 3rd 1959, the day when a crash landing of plane killed three popular musicians of the American Rock “roll : Buddy Holly ( Charles Hardin Holley - ° September 7th 1936), The Big Bopper, ( Jiles Perry Richardson - ° October 24th 1930) and Ritchie Valens (° May 13rd 1941). Early the morning, with approximately 1:05, a Beechcraft Bonanza transporting the three musicians is crushed in a field whereas it was on the way for a concert close to Fargo (North Dakota), killing the three musicians as well as the pilot, Roger Peterson .
In the American popular culture, this day is indicated as The Day The Music Died ( the day when the music died ) according to the words of the song American Pie of Don McLean.
