the Dancer of the top ( Signal Hat ) is a American Musical film of Mark Sandrich left in 1935.
Synopsis
Horace Hardwick (Edward Everett Horton) is about to produce a new musical production with for high-speed motorboat the American dancer Jerry Through (Fred Astaire). This one devotes to a small number clappers in its hotel room and awakes beautiful the Dale Tremont (Ginger Rogers). Furious, it comes to strike with its door decided well to put an end to this disturbance of the peace at night, but they fall under the charm one from the other. After the triumphal reception of the first, the principal participants fly away for Venice. Follows a whole series of Quiproquo S in love punctuated that and there by dance numbers to the explanatory final scene where the dancers for a last ballet find themselves.

The scenario is built on the diagram of Merry Divorced the ( The Gay Divorcee ), and returns in a refined world makes happy few .The film remains famous for its decoration with, in particular, the reconstitution of Venice out of paperboard paste. Indeed the decorations are stylized to the extreme, with sumptuous apartments very out of satin white, black and white shining and contrasted, all contributes to celebrate Venice and its atmosphere of dream.
In this film, Fred Astaire improves his character of air dancer that nothing seems to be able to stop, thanks to choreographies of Hermes Pan allowing to pass from the action to the numbers danced without any break in rhythm.
Irving Berlin composed a melody adapted to the steps of the Astaire/Rogers couple, progressively of the writing of the scenario.
