The Croatian Council of defense

The the Croatian Council of defense also called HVO ( Hrvatsko vijeće obrane ), was the executive body, administrative and military supreme of HZ H-B/HR H-B (the Croatian Community of Croatian Herceg-Bosna/République of Herceg-Bosna). This community then republic was defined as a unit separate or distinct on the territory from Bosnia-Herzégovine. The HVO was made up the April 8th 1992 by the “Herceg-Bosna”, the Croatian republic autoproclamée in Bosnia-Herzégovine at the beginning of the war of 1992. If the “Herceg-Bosna” officially ended at the time of the Accords of Dayton in November 1995, its institutions and the HVO in particular were not dissolved and continue to exist.
