The Criticism of the school of the women

the Criticism of the school of the women is a Comédie in an act and prose of Molière, created with the Théâtre of the Palais Royal the Friday the 1st er June 1663.

Summary

Two women, Uranie and Élise, receive in their living room of knowledge and the friends, and all discuss of the part the School of the women whom they have just seen. Each one has a distinct opinion: the ones liked, the others hated.

In the camp of “against”, there are Lysidas, author jealous of the success of the part, the Marquis, stupid and pretentious character and Climène, which posts an easily ruffled decency and a devotion.

Opposite opinion, one finds Gilding, friend of Molière, man posed and judicious, Uranie, the housewife, and Elects, woman of spirit, which pretends to support the opposing party, underlining by its indéfectible approval the weakness or the ineptitude of the arguments of those.

Each one remains on its positions, and announces it been useful supper is used as outcome. They go all with pleasure, each one there being persuaded to have carried the discussion and to be itself shown there with its advantage.
