Summary

In 1943, Charles Bailly, prisoner of war in Germany, decide to escape from the farm where it is employed. Its trick, coarse and insane seemingly, consists in crossing the country, the Marguerite cow leaves some and the milk bucket, in the other hand. Thus will start most extraordinary of the odysseys for the man and the animal, peaceful image of peace in a country torn by hatreds and violence. After being itself separate animal, it will escape in front of two French police officers and will jump in a train for… Germany. They are only two years later that this heroic soldier will return from captivity.
