The Countess of Charny
the Countess of Charny , novel written by Alexandre Dumas in 1853 makes continuation in a certain way to the novel Ange Pitou . Indeed, as explains it Alexandre Dumas in his foreword with the first tome cheese of the Comtesse of Charny , Ange Pitou was at the origin to comprise six volumes, but at the request of Emile Girardin it was tiny room to a volume. This novel was unfinished what explains this strange end.

Time
Alexandre Dumas begins his novel at the time of the Journées from the October 5th and 6th 1789. The royal family leaves Versailles for the Tuileries. The history of the Countess of Charny proceeds at the time of the French revolution and is mainly at Paris and in the villages of Haramont and Pisseleu located close to Villers-Cotterets. This novel clarifies certain revolutionary personalities, like Maximilien de Robespierre, Jean-Paul Marat, Honore Gabriel Riquetti, count de Mirabeau, but also from the imaginary characters such as the enthusiast count Olivier de Charny of the queen Marie Antoinnette of Austria, this one will fall under the mortal blows from the revolutionists at the time of the Journée of August 10th, 1792, his/her young brother, the Viscount Isidore de Charny, lord of Boursonnes, in love with Catherine Billot of which it will have a son, the Isidore young person. The father of Catherine Billot is a sans-culotte faithful to the ideas réolutionnaires, he does not forgive with his daughter his love for noble, one night, the Billot father will try to assassinate the young Viscount of Charny. Isidore de Charny will find death during the escape of Louis XVI and his arrest in Varennes 1791. The countess of Charny, Andree de Taverney of House-Red, marries of the count Olivier de Charny, found her son, Sebastien Gilbert whom it had in terrible circumstances. Andree found also the love of Olivier, who, after his passion for Marie-Antoinette cools, discovers in his wife, by then completely neglected and forgotten by him, her true love, unfortunately, too late. Their happiness lasts only one year. The Revolution will take to the life of Olivier in défendandt the royal family, Andrée will find death with the Prison of the Force at the time of the Massacres of September 1792. In the novel Joseph Balsamo, Cagliostro began his sabotage to shake monarchy, in the Collar of the Queen , it continues its work of destruction, in the novel of the Countess of Charny it finishes its work there.
