The Councils of prudence

The councils of prudence (" sentences S ") are indications present on the labels of chemicals, which advise the user as for the precautions to be taken during their handling or use. They are appeared as a S followed of one or several numbers, each one corresponding to a particular council. They are defined in appendix IV of the European directive 67/548/EEC: Safety advice concerning dangerous substances and preparations. The list was supplemented and published again in the directive 2001/59/EC.
