The the Council for the Economic affairs and Financial , or the Council ECOFIN (whose pronunciation is " écofine"), is the formation of the Conseil of the European Union gathering the Ministers for Finance of the Member States.
Council ECOFIN exerts the Legislative power out of economic material and financial, in certain cases in Codécision with the the European Parliament (the interior market, freedom to provide services, consumer protection, and measurements related to the compilation of statistics).
The majority of the Council Decisions ECOFIN are taken with the qualified Majorité.
