The community of communes of the canton of Podensac is a French Communauté of communes located in the department of the the Gironde and the area Aquitaine.

Leant in left bank of the the Garonne, the Canton of Podensac is located at 40 kilometers of Bordeaux and at 15 kilometers of Langon. Thirteen communes (18 000 inhabitants approximately) occupy the 240 km ² of its territory divided between Forêt and Vignoble S.

The canton of Podensac connects the vineyard and the forest, the two soils symbols of the department of the Gironde.

Leant in left bank of the Garonne, one finds a long planted corridor of Peuplier S. water of the Fleuve are, in this perimeter, everywhere at them. In period of vintage, nothing resists their attacks. The Vigne is well installed in this sector before going up a weak inclined, towards the alluvial terraces. Us here are in the prestigious vines of Serious names , Sauternes, Barsac, Cérons for as much of Castle X breathing at the rate/rhythm of the seasons. It is enough to launch out on the small roads furrowing the territory to inevitably meet of them one with the turning of a crossroads. Per Ci by there, one discovers picturesque surrounding walls out of hardcores Calcaire and some vestiges of windmills to recall that the human activity is established here of long time. Ciron offers, starting from Budos and Pujols-on-Ciron, beautiful strolls in direction of the Garonne. Wood and thicket slip malicieusement between the pieces of vine. The landscapes of the canton of Podensac offer several faces. On a side the vineyard and its horizons clear and punctuated of concentrated dwellings.
