The the Community of Communes of the Agglomeration Year ( 2C2A ), is a Communauté of communes of Haute-Savoie (France). Located between the Mount Salève and the mountains of the Voirons, with the outlet of the valley of the Arve, it gathers the communes of:

History

In August 1966, the communes of Ambilly, Year, Etrembières, Strapping man, City-the-Large and Vétraz-Monthoux formed the " Intercommunity association with Multiple Vocation of the Agglomeration Year; (SIVMAA).

The Trade union managed at its beginnings only the production and the distribution of drinking water, the cleansing and the school facilities of the second degree. But its field of intervention quickly grew and from new competences were gradually transferred by the communes: purification plant, outdoor center, housing, etc

; Towards a community of communes…

Obvious result of this development, the trade union was dissolves to make place at January 1st, 2002 with a Communauté of communes to clean taxation. The community of communes of the agglomeration year (2C2A) is today in its category, the public corporation of inter-commune co-operation most important of the department of the Haute-Savoie: as well by its field of intervention as by the level of financial means and logistics which it mobilizes for the execution of its missions.

The 2C2A is given for objective to support within a space of solidarity, the development of a concerted project of development and fitting-out.

It is indeed advisable to bring appropriate responses with the noted dysfunctions which essentially translate the specificity of its frontier territory with the Suisse. The 2C2A resolutely wishes to consolidate and affirm an identity of urban center beside Geneva, in the Genevese High Savoyard and the network of Rhone-Alps cities by developing its potential of development.

; Tomorrow, a community of agglomeration to 12?

This is why, it thinks today on its future trend and its possible passage in community of agglomeration with the Communauté of communes of Voirons. To 12, this evolution still being studied would give rise to a territory, " the area of Year; , equipped with a still more marked identity and allowing to better manage many competences which fall today on the EPCI.
