The Community of communes of the Country of the Poppy

The community of communes of the Country of the Poppy is a inter-commune structure French, located in the department Somme.

History

This communuaté of communes Communauté of communes of the area of Albert - Acheux in Amiennois and Bray was called on Somme before the intervention of the order of the prefect of October 29th, 2004. The new name recalls that the territory of the Community is in the middle of the territory of the Bataille of the Sum of 1916.

Budget and taxation

The Community is financed by:
  • the single Professional tax (at the rate of 10,29% in 2006) which replaces the professional taxes before perceived by the communes.
  • the Tax of removal of the household refuse (TEOM) which finances specifically this service

Achievements and projects

Economic development

  • the aéro-industrial platform realized within the framework of a mixed trade-union with the Department of the Sum. This project of 40 million euros is financed by the European Union (22,5%), the Area Picardy (30%), the Department (30%), Airbus (11,25%) and the Community of Communes (6,25%).
  • a park of activity to Albert
