The Communauté of communes of Cognac is a French inter-commune structure , pertaining to the Oust-Charente Country, located in the department of the Charente and the area Poitou-Charentes.

history

• Creation of the district of Cognac in 1962
• Creation of the the Community of Communes of Cognac , on December 13rd 1993 by 12 communes around old the district of Cognac then entered of Saint Laurent de Cognac in 2001 and Javrezac in 2002
• tax Mode (at the 1/1/2005): Single Professional tax ( TPU )
• Surface: 3,07% of the department of the Charente.
• Population: 10,28% of the department of the Charente.
• annual Evolution of the population (between 1990 and 1999): -0,16% ( -0,08% for the department).
• 2 canton (S) concerned (S): Canton of Cognac-North and Canton of Cognac-South.
• 2 city (S) of more than 2.000 Inhabitants: Châteaubernard, Cherves-Richemont.
• 1 city (S) of more than 15.000 Inhabitants: Cognac.

• infrastructures and transport: the network transcom, work for the improvement of the road safety, the installation of cycle tracks
• fitting-out and habitat: social housing, restoration and assistance at companies HLM for construction
• economic development, use and formation
• reception center of the companies
• creation of zones of activitées and artisanal zones
• participation in the revival of the rural trade (muliples rural, bakeries.)
• tourist development: management of the reception center of the visitors, the camp-site, the gabarre, the mill of Préziers (lodging)….Participation in the tourist bureau, to the installation of hiking trails, contributes with the creation of rooms of hosts.

• environment and tallies of life:
• financing of the studies and participation in the refitting of places, streets, centers boroughs, with the purchase of urban furniture of quality and with the obliteration of the networks electrical supply,
• financing of the environmental studies: rehabilitation of the islands of Charentes and the marsh of Ars for examples
• assistance with the plantation of trees and hedges, maintenance of the banks of Charente
• financing of the operation " 100% chlorophylle"
• sport and leisure: with the management of the base sport, sports complex, Cognac Yacht Rowing Club, riding school, center of tennis of Saint-Brice, gymnasia…
• Community buildings: maintenance and work

personnel

An Administrative total of 81 paid including 44 holders and 37 not holders including 20 seasonal workers

• : director of the services and director-assistant and four administrative assistants.
• Operations managers: 2 with economic development, tallies of life, environment and follow-up of work
• technical Secteur: 18 holders and 5 not holders with 2 engineers and 2 high-level techniciens, and an environment team.
• Team of the cultural sector: 20 with the academy
• Team of the sporting sector: 2 teachers and 2 operators of the APS
• Others: 2 stations with space discovered and 2 stations with the mill of Preziers
• Personal seasonal worker: 2 post offices with the gabarre, 4 stations with the camp-site, of the stations of assistant of the inheritance.
