The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization

The the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (shortened in CSIRO ) or Organization for the scientific research and industrial of the the Commonwealth is the Australian government organization for the scientific research. It was founded in 1916 under the original title of Advisory Council off Science and Industry.

Description

The greatest discoveries of CSIRO relates to the invention of the microscope with spectroscopic absorption, the development of first polymeric banknote, invention of repellant with insect in Aerogard and the success of the introduction of certain agents of biological control in Australia like the introduction of the Myxomatose and the calicivirus of rabbit for the control of the rabbit populations.

Recently, CSIRO engaged in defense of its patents in the use of wireless technologies used by many laptops. A collective legal action was launched against Microsoft, Apple and Dell to obtain the payment of royalties for the use of patents deposited by the CSIRO in 1996.

In October 2005, Nature announces that scientists of CSIRO developed an almost perfect rubber band starting from the Résiline, an elastic protein which contributes to the jump of the chip S and to the flight of the Insecte S.

The CSIRO counts 60 sites in Australia and abroad and employs more than 6.000 people. The mission of the CSIRO is to improve the quality of the life like contributing to the performance as well economic as social of industries.
