The Coffee of night, places Lamartine, Arles
the Coffee of night is a painting carried out with Arles, in September 1888, by the Artist-painter Dutch Vincent Van Gogh. Its title is registered in bottom on the right under the signature.
The table represents the coffee of the Station, on the Lamartine place of Arles, held by Joseph Michel, and his wife Marie Ginoux, who in November 1888 posed for Van Gogh and Gauguin.
The painting, which was formerly in the collection of Ivan Morozov in Moscow, was clandestinely left out of the Soviet Union in the Années 1930 and is currently exposed to the art gallery of the Université Yale.
