History
The name of the borough comes from " Santi Andréa de Costa" , appeared for the first time on documents with the Middle Ages. This city is thus old and has many buildings presenting an architecture of XIe, XVIe and 19th centuries.

Hector Berlioz is a type-setter, writer and critical French, it was born the December 11th, 1803 with the Coast-Saint-Andre, it died the March 8th, 1869 with Paris. A symphonic festival of music to him is devoted every year to the Saint-Andrew Coast towards the end of August, to see Festival Berlioz.

Johan Barthold Jongkind (painter Dutch landscape designer) comes to live with the Coast-Saint-Andre in 1878 to carry out to it a peaceful existence until the end of its days.
