The City of the Earthenware jars

the City of the earthenware jars is a Icelandic detective novel of Arnaldur Indriðason. Published with the Métailié editions in 2005, this novel was translated by Eric Boury and received the prestigious Clé price of glass of the Scandinavian black novel.

It was initially published in Iceland in 2000 under the original title: Mýrin , i.e. " Marécage".

One become acquainted there with the Erlendur police chief, whom one finds in its second novel, the Woman in green . He inquires into the death of an old Sir, who proves to be a rapist. Its investigation leads it in dark strong recesses of Iceland.
