Comments
With
the Child , the Dardenne brothers gain with the
Cannes festival their second Palme of Gold, received in a context more alleviated than for that obtained six years earlier with
Rosetta . They sign here undoubtedly their best film, avoiding the formal aridity of the first settings in scene and imposing a deeply human cinema: a cinema of the heart, movement and action, which delivers without turning an abrupt truth emerging from the bodies and the glances. A work masterly, rough, generous and vibrating at the same time, interpreted with grace and talent by Jérémie To disavow and
Deborah François.
