the Castle in the sky (天空の城ラピュタ Tenkū No shiro Rapyuta ) is a Japanese cartoon film of the Studio Ghibli, carried out by Hayao Miyazaki in 1986.

Short summary of the history

An airship is attacked by pirates. Sheeta, young girl captive mysterious men, benefits from the occasion to try to escape… and fall into the vacuum. The pendentive one that it carries to the neck is illuminated suddenly, its fall is slowed down and it goes down gently towards the ground.

Pazu, young boy working in a mine, sees it going down while floating, and catches up with it. Both bind friendship. Pazu tells in Sheeta that he seeks the legendary floating city Laputa, symbol of a all-powerful civilization now disappeared.

But the men continuing Sheeta do not delay to find it. Helped by Pazu, it will try to escape to them and discover this mysterious celestial city.

Characters

Pazu : It is the young hero of the history. Without family, he works in a mine before having to flee with Sheeta to escape the men who continue the young girl.

Sheeta : It is the heroin of this history. It has about the same age as Pazu. It also is separated from its family. She has a mysterious capacity which reacts vis-a-vis a blue stone.

Gilded : It is the old woman chief of the pirates with whom Pazu and Sheeta bind to travel.

Muska : A soldier (or statesman) who carries out the tracking of the young girl.
