the Briarres-on-Essonne is a common French, located in the department of the Loiret and the area Center.
Geography
The Briarres-on-Essonne is located on the the Essonne, to 5 km in the North-West of Puiseaux, 9 km in the south of Malesherbes and 16 km in the North-East of Pithiviers.
History
The existence of Briarres, whose name comes from the Gallic word meaning " pont" , is very old. At the end of the XIXe century, excavations led to the hamlet of Buisseau updated very important sarcophagi dating from the Gallo-Roman time (preserved today at the Museum of Orleans). In addition to its 3 mills on the Essonne, the most remarkable monument of the village is the church Saint-Etienne (ISMH), which presents a very old nave of XIIIe century to which a more recent nave made of 2 was assistant intersecting ribs, one hones and the other of it, undoubtedly paid by the inhabitants themselves, out of plaster. A retable of time Louis XIV is scheduled around a table representing the martyrdom of Etienne Saint. One will note also the old station of the Briarres-on-Essonne, on the Paris-Malesherbes-Montargis line (today unused of Malesherbes with Montargis).

Still primarily rural, with 3 farmers installed on the Communes and several others exploiting there of the grounds, the village remains active for its size. Among several companies, one will distinguish a building firm (MRC) as well as a bakery which also offers a ray of grocer. Culture
