The Box with Géo

the Box with Géo is a history in Cartoon of Carl Barks. She puts in scene Donald Duck, her nephews Riri, Fifi and Loulou and the inventor Géo Trouvetou. She is held with Donaldville and in a wood around. It is about the second appearance of Géo after Gontran has chance (WDC 140).

the Box with Géo is the last title used in French for this history ( Picsou magazine n°405, October 2005) and nearest to the original title, The Think Box Bollix .

Synopsis

Riri, Fifi and Loulou accompany the inventor Géo Trouvetou to test thinking boxes which give faculty to think of the animals. To make fun of Géo and to prevent that its nephews do not ridicule themselves while being its apprentices, Donald disguises himself in wolf to make believe that the boxes function.

the Box with Géo is the second history where Géo Trouvetou appears after Gontran has chance in the preceding number of Walt Disney' S Comics : Donald asked him to invent a means of reproducing the chance of Gontran Bonheur. Its inventions are already brilliant (four Pétard S to advance a vehicle), but imperfect (lapse of memory of the Frein S) or whose consequences were not rather considered (that would make a wolf which thinks?).

This history illustrates the evolution of the three nephews of Donald, Riri, Fifi and Loulou. Here, it is Donald who seeks to make a bad blow whereas its nephews impassion themselves for the inventions of Géo and nature. Moreover, the Castors Juniors were invented by Barks the previous year.

Don Rosa represents the box thinking in the course of manufacture in the First Invention of Géo Trouvetou , where it contributes to the invention of Filament.

It is evoked in If Donald did not exist? . In this Uchronie, Donald not existing and not having raised its nephews, Géo only tests in forest its invention and ends up losing its faculty to think, and is not then any more the inventor whom Donald knew.
