The Book of the courtier

the Book of the courtier is a work of the diplomat and writer Italy N Baldassare Castiglione published in 1528 with Venice under the original title It Libro del Cortegiano .

Aiming at describing the “ideal courtier”, the work was written according to the discussions of the courtiers of the court of Urbin at the 16th century, in which its author took part of 1504 in 1513, the Livre of the courtier was an immediate success in Europe with its publication (one knows forty editions in Italy of XVIe century, a hundred in Europe of the XVIIe century)). It was used thereafter as handbook of Savoir-vivre in the courses European.
