The Best Of is the eleventh album of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, appeared in 1998, one year after The Boatman' S Call .

To decide titles to include in this album, Nick Cave required of all the members and ex-members of Bad Seeds to choose their pieces preferred among those which are reproduced on the ten albums: their lists were to then be used as a basis for a discussion in order to stop the final choice. Actually, only the multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey, member of the group since his beginnings, took the trouble to make this list, and it is it which was used, such as it is, for the titles beach S of the album The Best Of .
