Did you know?
- the Beautiful one and the Tramp mark a big step in the history of the Disney studios for several reasons:
- it is the 1st Disney feature film distributed by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, a company created in 1954 by Walt Disney in order to not be dependant on other cinematographic groups more (Disney was hitherto distributed by RKO Radio Pictures).
- it is also the 1st feature film of animation in Cinémascope (2,55: 1), a format used to leave in 1953. However, few rooms being still equipped at that time, it were entirely turned over to the format 1,37:1
- it is finally the 1st feature film of animation to be profited from its stereophony (4 ways), if one excludes the attempt at Fantasia (1940) in " Fantasound ".
-
In the first scripts:
- Clochard was called " Homer" , " Rags" (" Guenilles") then " Bozo" , Jim-Darling " Jim Brown" and Darling " Elisabeth". As for the two Siamese cats, they were to name " Nip" and " Tuck" , names which were taken again fifty years later by successful series.
- Lady was to have only one neighbor named Hubert.
- While waiting for the arrival of the baby, Lady was to make a nightmare based in a sequence - finally removed - entitled " The Shoes" parades off; (similar to the " Parades of Éléphants" of Dumbo )
- In another given up song, Lady and Tramp entered an odd world where the dogs changed place with the human ones; the dogs were the Masters and vice versa.
-
Lady is inspired by the American Cocker organizer Joe Grant, an also called bitch Lady. It would be after having admired its fur that Walt Disney would have decided to make the heroin of film of it.
-
In film, when the two dogs walk in the night in the park, they leave traces of legs in a heart drawn in fresh cement. The two initial ones of the heart refer to two great authors for youth: James Matthew Barrie and Elwyn Brooks White. The pups of Lady and Clochard would have been designed at the time of this night.
-
the scene of opening where one sees Darling opening his gift, the morning of Christmas, and discovering Lady, is based on an incident which has occurred in the life of Walt Disney. After having forgotten an appointment with his wife, he wanted to be made forgive by offering to him a pup in a hatbox.
-
Peggy Lee which, with Sony Burke, created the songs of film, continued Disney for breach of contract, this last denying the rights of transcriptions to him. She claimed 2,3 million US$, and obtained win in 1991 after a keen battle.
-
the hyena which laughs in the scene of the zoo was re-used in attractions It' S.A. Small World of the parks Disney.
-
Because the history is told from the point of view of the dogs, the faces of Jim Chéri and Darling are only entraperçus in film.
-
the Beaver of film seems to have inspired the character of Gopher, the dog of meadow, in the Adventures of Winnie the bear cub (1977): they have both the same defect of Prononciation on the S .
-
For the scene of combat between Tramp and the rat, the organizer Wolfgang Reitherman kept a rat out of cage to study its movements.
-
a " Spin-off " film was created through a Band-drawn titrated Scamp (in the honor of one of the children of Lady). Written by Ward Greene and published on October 31st, 1955, it inspired the Beautiful one and Tramp 2: the call of the street (2001).
-
At the time of its arisen in 1962, the Beautiful one and the Tramp was presented with another film: Almost Angels .
-
a statue of the Beautiful one and the Tramp appears in the 3rd district of Traverse Road , a world of the play-video Kingdom Hearts .
-
the Beautiful one and the Tramp is classified 75e in the 100 Greatest Cartoons , if one refers to the survey of the Chanel 4 of the the United Kingdom.
-
the first names of the two cats of Aunt Sarah are inspired by the word “Siam”, old name of the Thailand in which the Siamese cat is originating.
