The Bangles ( bracelets in English) are a popular group of Rock female Californian in the medium of the Années 1980.
History
Born in 1981 with Los Angeles under the name of “The Supersonic Bangs” then later under the name of “Bangs”, the existence of another group of the name of “Bangs” in the New Jersey obliged them to change for “The Bangles”.
The group of origin was composed of Susanna Hoffs, Debbi Peterson and Vicky Peterson, which locally left a first 45 turns Getting out off Hand followed shortly after Call one Me . Annette Zilinskas ensured the role of bass player in 1982 and also played of the Harmonica. Zilinskas left in 1983 to join Blood one the Saddle and was replaced by Michael Steele, of the group “The Runaways”.
The group made at the beginning left the scene Paisley Underground, but their sound will become soon more pop and success will be with go. They however never disavowed their origins and proved it for example at the time of concerts in company of Sky Saxon of the Seeds, group mythical garage of the Années 1960.
Bangles know a world dedication with the title Manic Monday , appeared in 1986 and written by mysterious Christopher… which is not other than Prince (according to the name of the character interprets by itself in the film Under The Cherry Moon : Christopher Tracy). This title was classified n° 2 with the Billboard Hot 100 American in April 1986, whereas the title KIS of Prince was at the same time classified n° 1.
Following the success started with Manic Monday , the individual following was the title Walk Like An Egyptian which was classified n° 1 in the USA in December 1986. These two titles are extracted from the same album: Different Light .
The group brutally separated fine 1989, after new and ultimate world success with the 45 turns n° 1 Eternal Flame . After many Best off, the group reforms in 2000 for rounds and some recordings. In 2003, the girls leave a new album: Fraud Revolution .
