The Band with Picsou

the Band with Picsou ( DuckTales ) is a Televised series of American Animation in 100 25 minutes episodes, diffused between the September 18th 1987 and the December 10th 1989 on Disney Channel. In France, the series was diffused starting from the January 2nd 1988 on FR3 in the emission Disney Channel . With the Quebec, the series was diffused in the Années 1990 on Radio-Canada.

A feature film of animation, the Band with Picsou, the film: The treasure of the lost lamp inspired of the tale of the Thousand and One Nights Aladdin and the marvellous lamp , will leave in 1990 in conclusion the series.

Synopsis

This series puts in scene characters of the Univers of ducks of Disney, and mainly Picsou and its great nephews Riri, Fifi and Loulou which traverse the world in the search of lost treasures.

When they are not in search of a treasure, the nephews of Donald to Donaldville, are surrounded by Zaza, Mamie Baba and Flagada Jones and face with trick the enemies of their uncle.

Characters resulting from Carl Barks

Rapetou are differentiated than in the cartoons since their creation by Carl Barks, have each one a name (and more only their number). Their mother is a recurring character, whereas it was evoked, but ever shown as a cartoon. The appearance of Gripsou is it-also modified, making it more resemble a duck of Scottish origin that Sud-Africaine (being given the historical context of the time)

Donald Duck made some rare appearances. It is presented like carrying out a military service on an aircraft carrier.

New characters

  • Zaza (in English Webby Vanderquack ), young intrepid duck. Picsou makes his/her adoptive small-niece of it. In spite of its resemblance to the nieces of Daisy Duck, Lili, Excentric and Zizi, it does not have any family ties with the Duck family.
  • Granny Baba (in English Bentina Beakley ), grandmother of the preceding one and intendant woman of the Picsou house.
  • Flagada Jones (in English Launchpad McQuack ), aviator breakage-neck and awkward.

During 35 episodes of the second season, several characters appear of which Bubba, a young prehistoric duckling returned with the heroes of a Voyage in time.

La list hereafter respects the order of the French diffusion but differs from the original diffusion in the United States. However, certain French translations are erroneous and others do not exist under the name quoted Ci-low. Comments

In the French version of the series, Miss Tick was characterized with the oral examination by a slightly marked German accent.

The success of the series encouraged the Walt Disney Company to develop new series animated in the universe of ducks:

  • Mystermask ( Darkwing Duck ): adventures of a ridiculous duck superman (with Flagada Jones)
  • False notes in bulk ( Quack Pack ) with for Donald heroes, his nephews become adolescent and Daisy Duck working as journalist.

The end of the Années 1980 thus saw the creation of series with for hero the squirrels Tic and TAC, Winnie the bear cub and its companions, Dingo and his son max,… Thereafter, in fact the cartoon films ( Aladdin , the King Lion , etc) inspired by the animated series.

These creations allowed the production on several television channels in the world of programs two hours youth interfering short headings for children and these cartoons. In France, it was initially Disney Channel Saturday evening on FR3.

The character of Flagada Jones was used in a series as gags in a board, putting in scene Picsou, Riri, Fifi, Loulou and Rapetou.

Exits VHS and DVD

With the beginning of the year 1990, a certain number of episodes of the series appeared in VHS.

February 13rd, 2007, is appeared in Zone 2 in the United Kingdom, a box of 3 Dvd including/understanding in addition to the English sound tracks, the versions Frenchwoman, allemande, Italian and Spanish of the cartoon. June 20th, 2007, Walt Disney France will leave the 3 Dvds the English box to the unit (" Where a duck is never allé" , " Le Monde Perdu" and " Super Castor").

Video games

video games were conceived by Capcom for the consoles Nintendo BORN and GameBoy, Duck Tales is the first episode.
