The BOBs
The BOBs (Best off the Blogs) is an international contest of blogs organized every year since 2004 by the German radiotelevision Deutsche Welle. The Concours starts at the beginning of September and ends in one evening official of handing-over of the prices, which takes place mid-November with Berlin. Through BOBs, Deutsche Welle particularly sticks to promote the freedom of press and of information in many countries of the world. Since 2005, Deutsche Welle decrees a price in co-operation with the Reporters organization without Frontières. BOBs are opened with all the Blogs, Podcasts or vidéoblog S written or produced in one of the 10 languages of the contest: German, English, Arab, Chinese, Spanish, Farsi, French, Dutch, Portuguese and Russian.
Categories of the contest
BOBs decree a price in five categories all languages confused, as well as a price by language, that is to say on the whole 15 price. Here categories of the edition 2007:• Better Blog • Better Podcast • Better Vidéoblog • Reporters price without Borders • Blogwurst price • Better Blog by language (a price for each of the 10 languages of the contest)
Characteristics
BOBs determine at the same time prizes winner of the jury and the public. Each price is doubly decreed: the price of the public by a Vote in line opened with all, the price of the jury by an international jury made up of Blogueurs and specialists in the blogs. This one meets in Berlin in November and chooses its prizes winner among the finalists.
Blogopédia
Blogopédia is a Catalog of blogs international in ten languages, available throughout the year on the site of BOBs. One can register his blog there according to various criteria such as Titer, Auteur, Langue, Pays or Type. Blogopédia accommodates blogs, podcasts and vidéoblogs. All the blogs registered in Blogopédia can be noted and commented on.
