The Alps uranaises

The the Alps uranaises are a solid mass Montagne ux located in the central part of the the Alps in Suisse. They are with horse on the cantons of the Valais, of Bern, Uri, Obwald, Nidwald and Lucerne.

Geography

Situation

The Alps uranaises are drained by the Aar in the west and the Reuss in the east. They give rise to also the the Rhone.

They are surrounded by the the Bernese Alps in the west (beyond the Col of Grimsel), the the Alps lépontines in the south (Col of Furka) and the the Alps glaronaises in the east.

They include/understand inter alia the septentrional part of the solid mass of the Saint-Gothard.

Geology

The southernmost part of the solid mass, highest, is primarily made up of crystalline rocks autochtones, namely mainly of the Granite S, of the Amphibolite S, the Gneiss and the Ardoise S, by places covered with tablecloths Calcaire S.

In north, these rocks gradually leave the place to Molasse S.
