The Alps juliennes
The the Alps juliennes are a solid mass of the Eastern Préalpes Southerners. They rise between the Slovenia (Istrie and Carniole) and the Italy (Friuli-Venezia Giulia).
In the broad sense, they are also a whole of the the Alps composed of the Karavanke, the kamnic Alps and Pohorje. Their name comes from Jules César which was generous towards a province of this area which had as a capital Cividale del Friuli and which extended towards south-east until the the dinaric Alps, which, in spite of their name, do not belong to the Alps.

During the First World War, a face opened in the Alps juliennes. The War of position which proceeded there leaves today still traces: many barbed wires, not burst Shells, etc
After this war, Italy receives the major part of the Alps juliennes, but must again withdraw itself on the level of the Watershed after the Second world war, the remainder going to the Yugoslavia and the free Territoire of Trieste.
From now on, these are thus four languages which coexist in these mountains: Italian, the frioulan, the Slovenien and German.
