The Alps de Kitzbühel

The the Alps de Kitzbühel (German: Kitzbüheler Alpen ) is a solid mass of the the central Eastern Alps. They rise in Austria (the Tyrol and Land of Salzburg). They rise in the south-east of the Inn. The town of Kitzbühel is located in a directed valley south-north in the middle of the solid mass and its name gives him.

They belong to the the noric Alps.

The Kreuzjoch is the culminating point of the solid mass.

Geography

Situation

The solid mass is surrounded of the Massif of the Emperor in north, of the Massifs of Lofer and Leogang in the North-East, of the the Alps de Berchtesgaden in the east, of the Hohe the Tauern and the the Alps de Zillertal in the south, of the the Alps de Tux in the west and of the the Alps de Brandenberg in the North-West.

It is bordered in the south by the Salzach.

Geology

The Alps de Kitzbühel belong to the zone of the Grauwacke S and are made up mainly of Ardoise and Phyllite. One also finds there Calcaire and Dolomite.
