The Alps de Fiemme

The the Alps de Fiemme are a solid mass of the Eastern Préalpes Southerners. They rise in Italy (Trentin-Haut-Adige).

They belong to the whole of the Dolomites and are very frequently completely attached there.

The Cima d' Asta is the culminating point of the solid mass.

Geography

Situation

The solid mass is surrounded of the the Alps de Sarntal in north, of the Massif of the Dolomites in the east, the Préalpes vicentines in the south and of the solid masses of Brenta and Non in the west.

It is bordered by the Adige in the west and the Brenta in the south. The Valley di Fiemme and the Val di Cembra cross the solid mass towards south-west to the liking of the course of the Avisio.

It is made up inter alia links of Latemar in north and Lagorai, in the east.

Geology

Although geographically in the Dolomites and often included in this solid mass, the Alps de Fiemme are characterized some by nature from the rock: the Dolomite mainly leaves the place with the Granite and the porphyry.

The links of Latemar and Lagorai lend themselves very well to the practice Randonnée.

Local economy

The breeding and the pasture of the cows, horses and sheep constitute the traditional human activity.
