the Actor alias Eddie Blake is a character of the Cartoon the Watchmen (alias the Guards ), created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

He was member of the Minute Men , a group of superman of post-war period which was replaced then either by the children of the former supermen, or by fans. Its speciality lay in the combat commando, activity which it continued after dissolution of the groups of superman to the profit of the US government.

Edward Blake, known as “Eddie” Blake, known as “the Actor”, was a violent man but who forever appreciated the life which it carried out. It tried one day to violate the Silky Spectrum I, with which it had had before a close relation from where was born Laurie Jupiter, then it killed a woman who was pregnant of him. Its nickname came from its hopelessly ironic attitude vis-a-vis the life, which it tended to regard as a huge joke.

He was assassinated, défenestré of his apartment by a mysterious killer. One discovers with the wire of the album that the Actor knew some too much about the intrigues of his former comrade of fight Ozymandias, which explains its disappearance.

To note

the Actor was inspired by the character of Peacemaker, a character who belonged to Charlton Comics before being sold with cd. Comics.
They is only main characters of the album never not to be appeared in the direct narrative wire, since the history begins at the following day from its assassination. It is thus present only in flashbacks.
