Thanksgiving
The thanksgiving is an attitude of recognition towards God: the man " filled of all kinds of spiritual blessings in Christ" recognizes of which love he is liked of God and thanks some. Since a score of years, the Christians gave in honor to evoke the Messe, the word " Eucharistie ", which means thanksgiving, praises and joy.
Origins
The thanksgivings are frequent as of the Old Testament. One finds some in the book of Néhémie (), in the Livres of Maccabées (1 M 4,56 and 2 m3, 33), in Isaïe (), Jérémie (and), the first () and the Second epistle with the Corinthians (), in the epistle in Colossiens (), in the first () and the Second epistle in Thessaloniciens (; ), in the First epistle with Timothée (), and in the Apocalypse of Jean ().
For example, in the First epistle with the Corinthians, Saint Paul mentions the thanksgiving:
- “I return to my God continual thanksgivings on your subject, for the grace of God who was made to you as a Jesus-Christ. ”
Significance
In the Catholicism, thanksgiving is synonymous with Eucharistie.
According to the Catechism of the Catholic church:

“the Eucharistie, Sacrament of our hello achieved by the Christ on the Cross, is also a Sacrifice of Louange in thanksgiving for the work of the creation. In the Sacrifice eucharistic, all the creation liked by God is presented to the Père through death and the Résurrection of Christ. By the Christ, the Église can offer the sacrifice of praise in thanksgiving for all that God did of good, beautiful, and Juste in creation and the Humanité.

the Eucharistie is a sacrifice of action of thanks to the Father, a blessing by which the Church expresses its recognition with God for all his benefits, for all that It achieved Pa creation, the Rédemption and the Sanctification. Eucharistie means initially " action of grâce". ”
