Than Shwe

Than Shwe (born with Kyaukse the February 2nd 1933) is more the top-ranking executive of the junta to Myanmar (Burma).

He works in the Burmese postal service when at the 20 years age, he engages in the army where it remains during a few years in the department of the psychological warfare and fight against the rebels Karens.

In 1960, it is promoted captain. After the coup d'etat which évince the minister U Naked in 1962, it continues to climb in the rows. He is lieutenant-colonel in 1972, colonel in 1978, ordering military district of South-west in 1983, vice-chief of the staff of the army, brigadier general and vice-minister of defense in 1985 and finally major general in 1986.

He obtains also a seat among the leaders of the party of the executive central committee. The April 23rd 1992, he becomes the president of the council for peace and the development is the equivalent of Head of State of the Myanmar.
