Théogonie

The théogonie is a Généalogie gods of a Mythologie. It introduces to some extent the Cosmogonie which describes the birth of the Univers and explains the destiny of the men subjected to divine passions. It is often a question of harmonizing, with the limit of poetry and the doctrines, the disparate legends relating to the main causes.

At the Greek several théogonies competed:

  • the Myth pelasge, from which the Homeric accounts derives;
  • the Olympian Myth, developed in a work of Hésiode, which bears precisely the name of Théogonie , where he tells the birth of the world according to the beliefs and more precisely starting from a song than the Muses would have learned to him.
