Théoden

In the Lord of the Rings of J.R.R. Tolkien, Théoden is the king of the Rohan.

When Gandalf and of the members of the Communauté of the Ring finds it, it is weakened by the death of his son Théodred and by the sorcery of Saroumane and its minister Gríma Language-of-snake. Gandalf releases it from these influences at the time when the wizard of Orthanc prepares to attack Rohan.

Théoden then fights the forces of Saroumane to save its kingdom. When Orc S come from Isengard and carrying the white hand of Saroumane flow on Rohan, it leaves Edoras with its troops and takes refuge with the pit of Helm. There, assisted by Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, it resists the armies of Saroumane heroically but could not have gained the battle without the arrival of Gandalf as well as soldiers carried out by Erkenbrand, lord of Ouestfolde and vassal of the king of Walk.

With the assistance of the former members of the Community of the Ring, it will carry help to the Gondor attacked by the Mordor. It dies there crushed by its horse Nivacrin, embanked by the King-Wizard of Angmar, captain of the Nazgûl, during the battle of the fields of Pelennor. Théoden seems a true war leader who charges with the head with his troops.

It leaves its throne to its nephew Éomer who becomes the first king of the Walk of the Fourth Age.
