Thève

The Thève is a French river of 33,5 km tributary of left bank of the Oise which runs in the departments of Seine-et-Marne, of the Oise and the Val-d'Oise.

Geography

It is born with Dammartin-in-Goële in the North-West from the Seine-et-Marne and moves initially towards north. Arrival soon in the Department of Oise, it obliques towards the west, direction which it will maintain until the end of its course. It is only one temporary river to the castle of Saint-Sulpice-of-the-Rowed. It crosses several ponds. It is divided into two arms of Lamorlaye to the confluence:

  • the Old woman Thève
  • the Thève News which is thrown in the Ysieux
It marks the limit between the Picardy in north and the Île-de-France in the south. Both Thève were channeled for the Castle of Muzzle.

It is thrown in Oise out of left bank on the level of Lily-Chantilly, a little in the north of the abbey of Royaumont.
