Text REtrieval Conference
The Text REtrieval Conference (TREC) is a program conceived like a series of workshops in the field of the Recherche of information (IH or IR).
This program is jointly constant by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and Advanced Research and Development Activity (ARDA) Center of the Department of Defense of the United States. It began in 1992 within the framework from project TIPSTER. Its goal is to encourage work in the field of the search for information by providing the infrastructure necessary to an evaluation to large scales of methodologies of textual research and to increase the speed of the Technology transfer.
