Tetuani

The tetuani or tetauni or tétouanais is a Dialecte derived from the vernacular Judeo-Spanish , this language judéo - Romance itself derived from the old man Castillan of the 15th century. It was the dialect of the Juif S Séfarade S of Oranie in the west Algérie N.

The name of tetuani comes from the town of Tétouan in the north of the Morocco, in which some of the Juif S of Oran were originating.

The memory of this language is preserved currently primarily in Israel, since the majority of the Jewish community speaking tetuani left the North Africa.

In addition to the tetuani, the Judéo-espagnol gave rise to other local dialectal alternatives, like the Haketiya (or Haquetiya) which constitutes the other Western dialect of the Judeos-Spanish installed in the north of the Morocco.
