Tetraodon mbu
Tetraodon mbu is a Espèce of Poisson of the family of the Tetraodontidae. The tétraodon mbu is a species which one finds in the estuaries of certain rivers of Congo, but which is also present in the lakes Tanganika and Malawi. As regards the parameters of water, one can find on Internet of the sites saying that he appreciates fresh water up to 6 of pH… and other sites saying that he likes very hard water up to 9! It is thus necessary to be very vigilant, and to supervise closely your individual according to his reactions during a variation of pH. In its natural environment, it seems that he nourishes mainly snails and other molluscs. Out of aquarium, shrimps or moulds seem to be appropriate to him. It will be noted that the mbu is particularly goinfre, an individual of 15 cm nourishes more or less 3 to 4 moulds every two days. When this one is repu, its belly takes the shape of the moulds which it swallowed for the majority in entirety. Concerning the physical characteristics, the mbu has, like all tétraodontidés, of the mobile eyes on the sides. Its colors brown and yellow are marbled on the back and yellow on the belly. Its pectoral fins are round and make think of a movement wings when it makes use of it. Its mageoire dorsal is very behind, of small size and just above the anal one. Its pectoral fin is line yellow and brown and very developed.
Aquariophilie
As regards the size of the vat, one recommends a very large vat for only one individual, those being able to reach almost 70 cm at the adulthood. A vat of 750 liters is a minimum for a subject, a vat of: 2000 liters can be appropriate for 2. Indeed, the mbu is aggressive towards the other members of its species, and is known as aggressive towards other fish of the vat. It seems that is not the case at all the individuals. It can occur incidents with other fish, if for example, you nourish the tetraodon and that another fish comes to place itself between him and food. By prudence, one should not put too small fish in its presence, nor other fish with aggressive tendency. The tétraodon mbu seems to develop social positive ratios with the person who occupies herself some more. It goes until being let cherish by this person, to play with him along the pane, but attention, some mbu refuse to be made nourish by another person, and can go until being let die of hunger, thus envisage to accustom it as of the beginning with a minimum of 2 people. As regards its teeth, the mbus while veillisant, if they do not corrode the teeth on stones or shells, can present an outgrowth like rabbits until more not succeeding in nourishing itself. A passage in the veterinary surgeon can be useful for filing to him in certain extreme cases. Take care to provide him stones to be corroded.
